Frequently Asked Questions

Does GlideLift work with any two-post lift?

GlideLift is designed to work with most modern symmetric or asymmetric two-post lifts that use rotating arms. No modification to the lift is required, and the adapter doesn’t clamp to the posts or rely on custom brackets. It rests on the arms and includes secure bolt-through points for added safety.

How is the adapter secured to the lift arms?

Each lift arm passes under reinforced crossmembers and is secured with a single large bolt. This prevents shifting during lift or descent and adds an extra layer of mechanical security—especially when lifting heavy bikes. You can see this feature demonstrated in several of our videos.

Will this lift a full-size touring bike?

Yes. GlideLift was designed with heavy motorcycles in mind—including fully loaded baggers and touring bikes. The lifting is done by the two-post lift, which is already rated to lift full vehicles. The adapter simply provides a stable, secure platform for motorcycle use.

Is it safe to leave a bike stored in the air?

Yes—assuming your lift is in good working condition. Many shops store vehicles on two-post lifts overnight or longer. GlideLift includes tie-down points and secure bolt connections to the lift arms, making it ideal for storing a motorcycle out of the way.

Do I need a special wheel chock?

No. GlideLift accommodates most standard motorcycle chocks or wheel vices. You can use the setup you already trust—as long as it fits the platform and allows arm clearance underneath.

What about tie-downs?

The adapter includes integrated anchor points for standard motorcycle tie-down straps. You secure the bike before lifting, just like you would in a trailer.

Will this fit my specific bike?

If your motorcycle fits on a trailer and can be chocked and strapped, it will almost certainly fit on GlideLift. It’s been tested with touring bikes, cruisers, ADV bikes, sportbikes, and more.

What happens if a caster is damaged?

The caster assemblies are replaceable. If a wheel wears out or is damaged, it can be swapped out without affecting the rest of the system.

Can I buy one directly?

Not at this time. GlideLift is patent-pending and currently seeking licensing and distribution partnerships. If you’re an individual or shop interested in early testing, feel free to reach out—we’d love to hear from you.
